Share a useful visitor tip

Your first Dragon Con

Start by choosing a convention visit or parade viewing. For the convention, pick one main interest, collect your badge first and leave room in your day for walks, queues and breaks.

Still to confirm: The detailed 2027 program, guest appearance days, final parade arrangements and shuttle timetable are not confirmed here. Check the year on any map or schedule you use.

Spend a day inside the convention

A membership is your convention admission. Start with one interest—science fiction, comics, costumes, gaming or making things—and choose activities from the official 2027 program when it is available.

Full-event memberships cover all five days. Limited single-day sales are scheduled for August 1, 2027; their prices are still TBA. Check the current tier and fee before paying, and leave room for any separately charged activities.

Come for the parade

The 2026 parade was free and open to spectators. Watching the parade did not give access to the paid convention.

Use the organizer’s 2027 announcement for the final viewing arrangements, route and time. Choose transport and a meeting point after that information is published; an older parade map is not a confirmed 2027 plan.

Find your first stop

Badge pickup, rail arrival and the activity venues are different stops. Start with the place that fits your visit, then use the official 2027 program to find the correct building and room.

  1. Collect your convention badge

    Courtland Grand Hotel

165 Courtland Street NE. General badge pickup is in the Georgia Ballroom; bring photo ID and the QR receipt. Follow your membership’s pickup day.

  2. Arrive by MARTA

    Peachtree Center station

Red and Gold lines. This station has no parking. Check station exits, elevator service and the walk to your first stop.

  3. One of the host venues

    Atlanta Marriott Marquis

265 Peachtree Center Avenue. Other host hotels are the Hyatt Regency, Hilton Atlanta, Courtland Grand and Westin Peachtree Plaza. Check the program before choosing a destination.

Use the organizer’s current entrance and access instructions. Map searches do not reserve parking or establish a walking route.

Your first stop: badge pickup

Go to the Courtland Grand Hotel, 165 Courtland Street NE. The official FAQ places pickup in the Georgia Ballroom. Bring photo ID and the QR receipt, printed or accessible on your phone. Contact the organizer before travel if the receipt is missing.

Published 2027 pickup hours, Eastern: Thursday September 2, 10 a.m.–10 p.m.; Friday September 3, 8 a.m.–10 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday September 4–5, 8 a.m.–9 p.m.; Monday September 6, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

These are registration hours, not the hours for every convention activity. Collect a single-day badge on its valid day. For other memberships, follow the first pickup day in your confirmation.

Getting around without overplanning

Dragon Con spreads across downtown hotels and convention spaces. Use the official app’s map and schedule to group activities in the same area, and check that the 2027 program is selected. Leave gaps for moving between buildings rather than booking every hour.

Peachtree Center station serves MARTA’s Red and Gold lines and has no station parking. Coming from the west on the Blue Line, transfer at Five Points to a northbound Red or Gold train. Check current service, elevators and the return journey before leaving.

If driving, reserve a lot near your intended first stop. Confirm that the booking covers your arrival and departure times. Hotel parking, convention admission and an overnight room are separate purchases.

Bringing children or planning for access

Choose sessions for your child’s interests and age, then plan a shorter first visit with food and rest breaks. Under-seven admission is free only with a paid parent or guardian; under-16s must keep a parent or guardian nearby. There is no childcare, and not all programming is suitable for children.

Contact Disability Services about your particular needs before traveling. The organizer lists registration assistance, seating accommodations and accessible transport; ask for the 2027 arrangements. Downtown slopes, queues and multiple buildings can affect how much your group can comfortably do.

At the convention, Disability Services is in the Courtland Grand lower level. Access assistance does not guarantee a seat in a full session. Ask staff where to take a break; a dedicated 2027 quiet room has not been verified.

Budget and choose before buying

Include membership fees, transport or parking, meals, possible lodging and purchases in your plan. Certain workshops and autographs cost extra; check each activity rather than assuming the badge covers every transaction.

Memberships cannot be refunded, transferred to another person or carried into a later year. If a particular guest is the reason for your visit, confirm that person’s appearance day before choosing admission. A five-day event does not mean every guest appears on all five days.

Checked October 26, 2026. Organizer and venue updates take priority.
