Start a collection or sort requested supplies at home. An adult still needs to arrange delivery or an approved pickup. You can offer organizing time without buying supplies.
MUST Ministries · Cobb area
Organize a food drive
Invite a small group to collect the pantry items MUST requests, then sort the donations before delivery.
How to get started
Check MUST’s current needs before collecting. If your drive needs a donation barrel or pickup, its guide asks for at least two weeks’ notice. Confirm arrangements with MUST before promising collection or delivery.
Children can help sort agreed items with an adult. This is preparation at home; it does not reserve an on-site volunteer shift.
Collect items from CAYA’s Thanksgiving list, such as boxed stuffing, canned vegetables and boxed mashed potatoes.
Items & November drop-off
Use the organizer’s full list before collecting; its gravy request excludes glass containers. An adult can deliver donations November 15, 2026, from 12:30–3:30 p.m. Eastern at Church of the Vine, 225 Hiram Acworth Highway, Dallas. Confirm any changes with CAYA.
Home collection is separate from the November 21 packing-and-delivery volunteer day above.
For young children, start by asking Keep Carroll Beautiful about a park cleanup away from traffic. For children age 8 and up, check an Atlanta Community Food Bank shift’s rules. Other organizations need to confirm ages before you bring children.
If an on-site shift is not suitable, ask a pantry what it needs and help a child sort an agreed donation at home. The adult handles arrangements and delivery. Buying supplies is optional; ask for a task that costs nothing.
One simple plan
Choose an organization. Confirm the task, date, duration, ages, supplies and any screening. Leave room afterward for a quiet break or a nearby park, if everyone has energy.
What should I ask before signing up?
“We are interested in helping. Our group has these ages and this much time. Do you have a suitable task? What should we bring, are there any costs, and can you accommodate our mobility or sensory needs?”
For school service hours, confirm that both the school and organizer accept the work and know how hours will be recorded.
Respect people’s privacy. Receiving help should not require appearing in a photograph or public story.
