Take the backroads. See a little more of Haralson.
Pack a drink, bring someone you enjoy, and leave room to notice the countryside. A country drive can be a simple way to spend time together.
Tap a colored road to explore its mapped dirt or gravel section. Use the road list to find a name, or share your location to see which mapped roads are nearby.
Plan before you drive. These sections are mapped as unpaved and closely match GDOT public-road records. Current surface, closures, through access and car suitability are unverified. Follow signs and gates; stay off private drives and never cross floodwater.

Mapped as unpaved in OpenStreetMap. At least 99% of each displayed section lies within 18 meters of GDOT’s active Haralson public-road geometry. This is a map match, not an inspection or a guarantee of current access.

Pick a road to investigate, check the connections, and leave time to turn back. The colored sections are individual stretches, not a tested loop. Paved roads may connect them.
Choose a dry day and a maintained road that suits your vehicle. Neither a map tag nor a truck guarantees passage. If a road is muddy, washed out, deeply rutted or uncertain, use a safe place to turn back.
Keep speeds down around homes, people, livestock and dust. Give farm equipment room. Enjoy fields, old buildings and creek crossings from the public road; a view is not permission to enter.
Let a passenger handle the map. Stop for photographs only where parking is permitted and safely clear of traffic; keep driveways and gates open.

Suggestions are reviewed before publication. No field-checked driving loops are published yet.
Sources, coverage & map details
Source snapshot: October 25, 2026. This first map covers selected roads in northern Haralson County, Georgia. It is not a complete county inventory or a live road-condition service. “Unpaved” can include dirt, gravel or another unsealed surface; we only call a section gravel when the source says gravel.
Road names, surface tags and colored line geometry come from OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License. The expandable evidence on each road links to its original records and map-edit dates. An edit date does not establish when the surface was surveyed.
We compared each line with the GDOT statewide route network, selecting active Haralson public-road main lines. At least 99% of each included section falls within 18 meters of that network. We excluded explicitly restricted access, driveways, service roads, tracks, mapped poor surfaces and unmatched sections. This geometric check supports identification; it is not legal access certification or a field inspection. The county’s Public Works page explains its road-index basis.
Lengths are approximate measurements of the colored sections, not full road lengths or trip mileage. Nearby distances run straight to a mapped point, not along a driving route. Google Maps links show a point on the road, not an approved entrance or a route through it.
Location is optional and used in this browser only. We do not save it or send it to Moss & Sons. Background tiles are requested from OpenStreetMap. External map links share the selected road point with Google Maps; those services have their own privacy policies.
