Make room for a good evening
These are ideas to choose from, not a shopping list. A few chairs, something simple to eat and time for each other can be enough.
Set out the marshmallows before lighting, give everyone a seat, and let each person tell one good thing from the day. Try a story told one sentence at a time or listen for nighttime sounds. Keep running games elsewhere and have an adult responsible for the fire throughout.
Find a nearby family outing firstChoose the gathering time, sort the food and chairs, and check your wood before guests arrive. If there is a game on, put the viewing area outside the fire’s clearances and keep the person tending the fire free to pay attention to it.

Find seasonal outings and local eventsUse cooking equipment and fuel approved for the job. Tell Daniel what cooker you have, the species you want and the piece size it accepts. Hickory cooking wood is quoted separately and availability is confirmed for the order.
Ask about hickory cooking woodBring a warm drink, leave a little space for conversation, or enjoy the sky without planning a whole event. For a local overnight escape, explore our riverside campsite and ask the host about wood and current fire rules before arrival.
Campfire wood is for permitted overnight stays in the designated ring. Day use has no campfires. For other campgrounds, check their wood policy and source wood near where you will burn it.

Walk out with a chair before choosing a major project. Where is the ground firm? What happens after rain? Can someone carry wood without stepping over things? A better location may solve the problem. When it needs work, start with the part that keeps you from enjoying the yard.
Record where water goes after rain before covering the problem with gravel. Site preparation depends on the slope, drainage and access.
Understand the wet spotDecide which view you want to screen, then check available room, growth and maintenance. Keep planting outside all required fire clearances.
Plan a living privacy screenChoose a sound rack, a suitable top cover and a clear carrying route. Refill requests are reviewed with Daniel before the next delivery is scheduled.
