PERMACULTURE & REGENERATIVE LANDSCAPING
Practical care now.
A healthier system over time.
Permaculture is not an all-or-nothing label at Moss & Sons. We can handle ordinary landscape work, drainage, grading, planting, cleanup, and seasonal care today—then help willing owners move toward healthier soil, wiser water use, useful plantings, and a more resilient property one phase at a time.

WHEN TO CALL
Start with the problem,
not a predetermined product.
- Runoff, erosion, wet areas, or rainwater leaving the property too quickly
- Thin soil, exposed ground, compaction, or repeated landscape decline
- A lawn or planting plan that depends on constant inputs but gives little back
- A desire for native plants, pollinator habitat, edible landscaping, or a food forest
- A large vision that needs to be broken into affordable, workable phases
HOW WE CAN HELP
Practical work.
Clear purpose.
This is a pathway, not a purity test. We do not promise a chemical-free property, instant self-sufficiency, or one design that fits every site. We favor observation, prevention, diversity, soil cover, and the least disruptive effective response—while remaining willing to use ordinary landscaping methods and properly targeted treatments when the property calls for them.
Drainage review, rain gardens, contour-aware swales and berms where appropriate
Soil-building with mulch, compost, living roots, groundcovers, and reduced disturbance
Native plant landscaping and pollinator habitat
Edible landscapes, orchard understories, plant guilds, and food forest planning
Integrated pest and vegetation management with targeted treatment when needed
Seasonal observation, adaptation, and long-term property stewardship
WHAT THE RELATIONSHIP CAN BECOME
Start where you are.
Grow toward what the land can support.
You do not have to convert an entire property at once. We can begin with a drainage concern, one tired bed, a pollinator strip, an orchard edge, a rain garden, or a better maintenance plan.
Over time, the work may become a connected system: water slowed and placed wisely, soil kept covered, roots feeding soil life, plants serving more than one purpose, and maintenance guided by observation instead of automatic reaction.
Moss & Sons remains a landscaping and property-care company. Permaculture simply gives interested owners a longer horizon and a more thoughtful way to connect the work.
The practical direction is consistent with USDA soil-health principles, EPA integrated pest-management guidance, and UGA Extension rain-garden guidance.
THE MOSS & SONS APPROACH
Read the property
Observe water, grade, soil, sun, existing plants, access, and the way the owner actually uses the land before drawing a plan.
Choose the next useful phase
Begin with the work that matters now—conventional landscaping included—while protecting the larger direction of the property.
Build relationship over time
Return season by season, learn from what the land is showing, and gently move the system toward greater health, usefulness, and resilience.
