The Moss & Sons
Field Journal

Learn the woods.
Care for the land.
Bring someone along.

Deer and hunting are our beginning. Here is room for the child with questions, the first-time hunter, the person returning after years away, and the landowner deciding what to do next.

Several white-tailed deer standing and moving through shallow water at a wooded creek crossing.

A note from Daniel

I have hunted before, but I haven’t hunted much lately. I want to get back into it.

That is where this journal begins: with something to learn, original family photographs, and a wish to make the woods more familiar to our neighbors. We will distinguish what we have observed from what we have researched. Experience matters; so does being willing to check it.
