Local disposal guide

Cobb County trash & recycling

Find a place to take household trash, yard debris or recycling around Marietta, Acworth and Austell, and check weekly pickup options across Cobb.

Sources reviewed October 23, 2026

Find a place to unload

Choose an item and the county where the waste comes from. Location is optional.

Call before loading to confirm access, your whole load, fees and today’s hours.

Load type
Add materials for a mixed load
Include every material in your load

Listings must fit every selected material. If no place fits, separate the load and check each material on its own.

Choose the county where the waste comes from. Other counties’ resident-only sites stay hidden.

For mattresses, cooling appliances, paint and electronics, only listings with item-specific guidance appear. Other facilities may accept them; call the county if none fit.

Access, matching & location privacy

Choose Business / paid cleanup for business waste, contractor work or paid hauling. The facility decides how your load is classified. Household selection does not waive permits, quantity limits or fees.

Location can suggest a county; it does not establish residency. Nearby public facilities still have load rules and charges. Published acceptance has conditions. “Call to confirm” means the reviewed source does not establish acceptance of this material. A material match is not approval for your whole load.

Location is optional. Coordinates stay in this page’s memory and are not included in search links or inquiries. Street-map tiles come from OpenStreetMap for the area shown. Distances are straight-line estimates, not driving routes or travel times. The location dot and road-area pins are approximate. Clearing location or leaving the page discards your coordinates.

Weekly trash pickup at home

Check your exact address: a city mailing address does not establish that your home is inside city limits.

Unincorporated Cobb: the county does not collect household trash. Use its permitted-hauler list and municipal contacts to compare providers. A permit listing is not an endorsement or a promise that a hauler serves your address.

Acworth: 770-917-8903
Austell: 770-944-4325
Kennesaw: 770-421-8582

Fees and who can use the site

GFL transfer station: Cobb residents pay $14 through 400 lb, then $0.03/lb above that. Nonresidents: $70 minimum; $70/ton. Only a valid Georgia driver’s license is accepted as residency proof. Special items cost extra; confirm handling and price.

TAG Grinding charges for yard debris; call for its current rates.

Choose the right place for your load

  • Household trash or construction debris: ask GFL about your load and special items.
  • Grass, limbs, bushes or leaves: use TAG Grinding.
  • Recycling: follow posted material bins. WestRock lists paper, cardboard, clean cans and qualifying plastics. Glass bottles/jars belong in designated glass collection, not mixed-recycling bins. Material-by-material rules.

Never leave trash, furniture or rejected items beside recycling bins. The county lists the Library Lane, Sandy Plains Road and Lower Roswell Road drop spots as closed.

Before you load up

  1. Check whether your address has city pickup and whether you qualify for the drop-off facility.
  2. Describe the items, weight or trailer size; confirm acceptance, fees and any ID requirement.
  3. Check today's hours, holiday closures and the last time loads are accepted.
  4. Separate materials, secure the load and confirm the entrance in your maps app.

Sources and corrections

Published information checked October 23, 2026; no telephone or site inspection is implied. Rates are the sources’ posted charges, not a quote for your load.

GFL’s indexed operator listing closes weekdays at 4 p.m.; Cobb’s disposal page says 5 p.m. Three county pages also disagree on WestRock hours. Call for the day’s schedule. Bin-emptying schedules at satellite sites are not public opening hours.
