Moss & Sons · A little time outside

Get some exercise.

Choose a way to move that fits your day, your company and the place you have available.

6 starting ideas

Begin with a short outing you can comfortably finish

Try this today

  1. Choose an activity and a familiar route or supervised facility.
  2. Plan the return before setting off, including a shorter option.
  3. Keep the first outing comfortable enough that you would like to do it again.

Bring: Water, suitable footwear and the equipment your activity needs.

Choose an idea

  1. Walk from your door

Use a suitable sidewalk, familiar path or your own property. Choose a landmark as your turnaround point, or enjoy a short loop with a friend.

  2. Go for a run

Pick a familiar route with appropriate visibility and footing. Fit the distance and pace to your current ability, and leave room to walk or turn back.

  3. Take a trail walk or hike

Choose a marked trail with a distance and surface that suit the group. Check access and conditions, carry what you need and allow enough daylight for the return.

  4. Ride a bicycle

Use a route appropriate to your bicycle, experience and companions. Check the bike, wear a helmet and plan crossings, breaks and the way back before leaving.

  5. Swim at an approved facility

Look for an open pool or designated swimming area and check supervision, rules and seasonal availability. A lake listing or boat ramp alone does not establish permission or a suitable place to swim.

  6. Walk the dog

Choose a dog-permitted route and follow its leash rules. Bring water and waste bags, consider the surface and heat, and let the dog’s needs shape the length of the walk.

Make it local. Go a little further.

Have someone in mind for this? Pass the idea along.
