Founders Days & hometown festivals
Keep the hometown traditions in view all year. Some towns call theirs Founders Day; others celebrate with a homecoming, heritage festival, or town festival. A past date is a reference, not next year’s schedule.

ILLUSTRATIVE SAMPLE · NOT A CURRENT EVENT LIST
Your West Georgia weekend
A few local picks for Friday–Sunday, with the details you need before setting out.
A local event
Each pick includes its town, date, published hours, venue and admission details. If a cost or time is unknown, we say so and link to the current listing.
Friday-night football
Choose your school for the schedule and game details. Confirm kickoff, venue and admission with the host school.
Pine Mountain Gold Museum · The city’s detailed museum page lists the museum closed during October and December. Seasonal train events have separate tickets and schedules.
THE LOCAL NOTEBOOK
Find a place for your kind of day.
Source-check dates appear on each place. Call-first notes and family-owned places are labelled. How we check the guide
1 place · All places · Lithia Springs. Published schedules are not live opening information.
Start with the flea market, currently listed for 8 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Make Little Tallapoosa Park your optional walk-and-picnic stop. Check holiday hours and budget separately for purchases.
02 · A QUIET OUTDOOR DAY
Leave room to explore.
Visit Buffalo Creek Garden for a short garden outing, or book a private day at our developed Tallapoosa Hideaway for a picnic, wildlife watching and family time outdoors. Bring your own tent or small RV if you reserve the overnight campsite instead. The separate Wilderness Retreat is closed through January 10, 2027.
On a confirmed open weekday, pair the West Georgia Museum with a brief Tallapoosa park stop. Sewell Mill is an arrange-first alternative in Bremen. The museum is closed Sunday.
These are editorial suggestions, not timed or field-tested routes. Check weather, closures, travel time, and each person’s needs. Public parks, private venues, and Moss & Sons experiences have separate rules and arrangements.
ONE MORE USEFUL LOCAL FIND
Ask your library before you buy a pass.
The West Georgia Regional Library System lists recreation partnerships, including Carroll County Parks parking passes and Georgia State Parks passes. Ask your branch about availability, eligibility, pickup hours, and restrictions before building a day around one.
Use our river and riding guides when the day calls for more than a short stop. Keep travel, preparation, and the trip home in the plan.
Our private stays are arranged separately. Other venues set their own admission, hours, and rules.
A completed Moss & Sons delivery.
FROM MOSS & SONS · LOCAL FIREWOOD

Seasoned firewood delivered and stacked for fireplaces, fire pits, and outdoor evenings around Bremen and West Georgia. Hickory cooking wood is also available by request.
Send your location and the quantity you need—Daniel will confirm availability, delivery access, and your total before booking.

MOSS & SONS · PROPERTY CARE
Help close to home.
This West Georgia frontage project brought fresh turf and a defined bed edge to an unfinished entrance. We also help with drainage, driveways, property cleanup, and ongoing care.
Send your town and a few project details—Daniel will confirm whether we can help.
We start with operator, city, county, university, and tourism information. Conflicting details are flagged rather than averaged. We do not infer free admission, accessibility, or permission to swim from a photograph or a map pin.
Other local venues await our field visit. Firsthand notes will carry an observation date. Venue photos and layout maps will be added only when their location and permission to use them are established. Until then, use the linked official information and Maps search; map results are not verified entrances.
